The May 1951 issue of McCall's magazine introduced Betsy McCall, who was presented as five going on six. The first artist was Kay Morrissey. This site presents high-quality images from Betsy's first ten years as a paper doll. For 150 dpi versions, follow the links at the bottom of each year's overview page. (For 300 dpi, contact me at pettit@adobe.com.) The scans have been brightened and cleaned up in Photoshop to remove age damage. For May and June 1951, I've posted before and after versions of the high-res versions so that you can compare them. |
