Census
This family appears in the 1880 census of Wabash County, Pleasant twp, as:
Blockson, J. W., 30, Barbara E. 30, Luettie 12, Arland E. 9, William H. 7, Laura C. 4, Homer 1. The place of birth columns have Ind for J.W., are blank for his parents, have Oh for Barbara, her parents, and dittos across the board for all the children. This is in error for both J.W.'s and all the children's place of birth. It is probably in error for John's age, too.
Notes for Barbara E. Grisso
Obituary in North Manchester News-Journal, Thursday, 5 Mar 1925, reads: "Mrs. Barbara Bloxson, a sister of Mrs. J. A. Bonewitz of North Manchester and Adam Grisso of Sidney, died at the Wabash County Infirmary Monday evening at 5:30. She fell and broke her hip about four weeks ago at her home in Wabash and was taken to the county infirmary for care. The funeral was held at the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Wabash this forenoon and burial was in the Laketon cemetery. Mrs. Bloxson was the daughter of Benjamin Grisso and his wife and was born in Laketon about 75 years ago. She married John W. Blockson from whom she later separated. Nine children were born to them, four of whom are living. They are William of near Roann, Homer of Wabash, Charles of Huntington, and Mrs. Rose Enders of Freeport, Michigan."
(The obituary is mistaken about the burial; her tombstone is in Falls Cemetery in Wabash.)
