| Notes for Henry ("Harry") Sellers Jr. |
Page 81 of Early Ohio Marriage Bonds (Clark Co.) lists the marriage of Barbara Ohmart to Henry Sellers, on 30 May 1822; original record in Book 1-B, 1821-1832.
Much of my data on the family of Henry Sellers Jr. and Barbara Ohmart is from group sheets prepared by Ken Fawley. He lists as his sources:
obituary of Catharine Sellers Grisso
obituary of John H. Sellers, News-Mirror, 5 Sep 1912
marriage records of Clark Co, OH, Wabash Co, IN & Montgomery Co, IL
1850 census of Montgomery Co., Illinois
1860 census of Wabash Co., Indiana
1870 census of Marshall Co., Indiana
will of Henry Sellers Sr., 1829, Will Book G, p.224, Greene Co. OH |
| Notes for Barbara Ohmart |
| Barbara Ohmart Seller's obituary in the North Manchester Journal says that she died 14 Feb 1883 on her 83rd birthday, which would imply a birthdate of 14 Feb 1800. This would also agree with the 1850 census, where she is listed as age 50 (see Notes for her son Daniel.) But that would be in conflict with the birth of her brother George. Of course, it is possible that George was really born earlier. Her obituary also states that she died in Fulton County in 1883, while the 1880 census of Bourbon township, Marshall County, Indiana has her living there with her son John Henry Sellers. |
