From Evelyn (Grisso) Fawley Pittenger's account of the Grisso family: "Now Dad, so the story goes, wanted to name his new son "Peter", after a Peter Grisso, but Mother held out for "Warren", for the president of the United States, Warren Harding. Dad had his way, though, nevertheless, and Warren became "Pete", a name he carried until his death." (Pete's namesake was the son of Emanuel Gresso, and thus a first cousin to Adam Grisso. He was a schoolteacher, and probably taught Charles in school. His death record lists him as Peter Gresso, but Wabash County school records give his name consistently as Pete Grisso.)
