| Notes for Daniel Garber |
This family is profiled on pages 115-117 of The Garber Genealogical and Historical Register, Vol. III. Their descendents are covered in pages 117-128.
Article titled "Early Family Arrived by Wagon Train" from a North Manchester newspaper (my photocopy is not dated.)
Listed on p. 56 of Lester Binnie's Cemetery Records of Paw Paw and Pleasant Townships Wabash County Indiana. Gravestone says he died 11 Feb 1911, age 82 y 8 m 23 d.
Montgomery Co. marriage records list David Garber m. Elizabeth Heeter, Oct. 6, 1850. (There is no Daniel Garber/Garver marriage in the county records.) But all later records are very consistent in saying that *Daniel* Garber married first, in Montgomery Co., Elizabeth Heeter, d/o Henry Heeter & Hannah Vaniman. The Garber Genealogical and Historical Register gives the date of marriage as 1 Oct 1850. Probably Daniel was misread as David (an n can look like a v and an el like a d), but perhaps his name was David Daniel Garber. |
