Lester Binnie's Cemetery Records for PawPaw and Pleasant Townships lists on p. 6, near the beginning of Row 8 in Cripe Cemetery, "Robert Howard, died 1 Nov 1882, age 77 yrs 2 mo 2 d" From this I have inferred a birthdate of 30 Aug 1805. |

There are curly brackets connecting Mary and Nancy, presumably a notation for twins. (I've shown where the dittos are, rather than the inferred data, partly because based on what I know about other families, this census taker seems to have often left out a notation of a new value, causing the dittos to inherit the wrong meaning. Page break between Nancy & Irmina, which is why the surname is repeated there. Unknown why it is for John.) If their tombstones are correct, the ages for Robert & Barbara should really be 45 and 44. The place of birth for Louisa differs from that she gives in 1860 and 1870. |

| Lester Binnie's Cemetery Records for PawPaw and Pleasant Townships lists on p. 6, near the beginning of Row 8 in Cripe Cemetery, "Barbary wife of Robert Howard, died 9 June 1873, age 66 yrs 5 mo 22 d", which would imply a birthdate of 18 Dec 1806. That is, however, suspiciously close to that recorded for her sister, Sarah (Sally). Lorraine Frantz Edwards, citing the original of the Dore M. Frantz manuscript (not the Burials excerpts I have) gives Barbara's date of birth as 22 Dec 1811, and her date of death as 9 June 1878. The data that Barbara d/o Peter Frantz and Catherine Gerst married Robert Howard is from the family group sheet for Peter Frantz on p. 28 of Our Garst Family. |
