Montgomery County Marriage Records list marriage of Samuel Arnold and Sarah Emrick on 3 Mar 1846.
According to Lester Binnie's book, which relies on Oren Frazee's 1925 genealogy, Samuel possibly moved to Kansas. This is incorrect, although his son Levi did move to Kansas.
Most of my information on this family is from correspondence in 1997 with Sam C. Arnold of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a great-grandson of Samuel's son Levi.
Samuel and Sarah lived in Montgomery Co. until 1868, at which time they moved with their three grown sons to Marion, Indiana. There they opened a mercantile store, Arnold & Gunder, in partnership with George W. Gunder. They were partners until Sam retired around 1890 and the partnership reorganized. According to Samuel's obituary, his brothers Moses and Aaron Arnold of Wabash Co., Indiana attended the funeral. |
