Notes for Christopher Schlosser
Most data on this family from correspondence with:
Shirley Hylton, 400 6th St. NE, Auburn, WA 98002.
Dorothy B. Peterson, 1330 Ephesus Church Rd., #7, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
Nola G. Marquadt, RR 1, Box 82-D, Carlock, IL 61725
Pauline Seigo, 124 Briscoe Circle, Bristol, TN 37620

Pauline's chart listed a daughter Susan as well as a daughter Catharine (Caty), while the others listed only "Susan Catharine (Caty)". Pauline's chart also listed two sons, Solomon and Harmon, with no dates for Harmon, while other researchers listed a single son named "Solomon Harmon"; Maria Margaretha did not appear on Pauline's, but on all others.

Dates of birth and death from bible of Burwell Hylton (Christopher's son-in-law). In 1972 this bible was in the possession of Alfred Hylton of Bristol, TN.

On 17 Dec 1794 a Christopher Schlosser was among members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Strausburg, Shenandoah Co., VA, who contributed to a fund to bring the first pipe organ for St. Paul's from Germany.
Census
1820 census of Montgomery Co., VA lists this family as:
Christopher Slosser, 1 m 16-26, 1 m > 45; 1 f 16-26, 1 f > 45. (These would be Christopher, Eve, Stephen, and Mary Ann.)
Notes for Eva (Hancock ?)
Pauline Seigo and Elza Cox list "Hancock" as Eva's surname; Dorothy Burnett Peterson's and Nola Marquadt's records give the same name but marked with a (?); Shirley Hylton listed no surname for Eva, so "Hancock" is apparently by tradition with no proof. Marriage records of Lancaster and Lebanon counties, including records of the church where their first children were born, have already been searched with no hit; perhaps the next step is a search of probate records looking for the will of Eve's father.

Eva was named in a deed transferring land from Christopher and Eva Slusher to their son David on 20 Nov 1837. She was not listed in the 1840 census. Her death is therefore estimated as 1838-1839, although it could have occurred very late in 1837 or early in 1840.
