Her obituary in the Rowan County News reported "Flora Adkins, 88, of Springfield, Ohio, died Sunday, Oct. 25 at Heartland of Urbana following a long illness.
She was born June 9, 1904 in Rowan County to the late Andrew and Isabell Johnson Quesinberry. Mrs. Adkins was retired from the Lawson Milk Company (formerly P. D. Cosmos) and had been employed there before World War II until her 1966 retirement.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Sally Adkins of North Hampton, Ohio, two daughters and one son-in-law, Jeanne 'Gladys' Vroman of Nevada and Carole and Michael Bailey of Springfield; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nola Conn of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1985, a son, Clinton in 1981, one sister, Alla Hanes and three brothers, Lee, Roy and Elzie Quesinberry.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Jones-Kenny-Zechman Funeral Home with Rev. Vester Clevenger officiating. Burial followed at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens." |
