His obituary states "Robert Lee Hanes 76, 3000 S Mulberry St. died at Ball Memorial Hospital at 7:10 PM Wednesday after an extended illness. He had been a resident of Muncie for 32 years and was a retired employee of the Acme-Lees Division after 14 years service.
Survivors include his wife Alla two daughters Mrs. Clinton Burhenn of Walsh Colo. and Martha Marie Hanes of Scottsdale, Ariz; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Parson Mortuary."
His stone in the Elm Ridge Cemetery says simply "Robert L. Hanes 1884 - 1961". |
