| His gravestone as surveyed by the Rowan County Historical Society says that he was born on 25 July 1892 and died 2 Feb 1942. But the Kentucky Death index records Stephen W. Caudill, age 58, died 2 Feb 1942 in Fayette Co., residence Rowan Co., and Stephen and Sylvania were both listed as age 27 in the 1910 census, living with Stephen's parents. So I think the cemetery survey either has a typo or the stone was misread, and the year of birth should be 1882. |
