Morgan Co. death records on LDS microfilm #216,835 list death on 21 Nov 1856 of John Shelton, age 33, married, parents not known, residence Sandy, Morgan Co., born Gian River, Virginia, killed by tree falling on his head.
His age in the above death record is considerably different than that implied by the 1850 census, which listed him as age 35 (implying an age of 1841 in late 1856.) But I think the death record is probably closer to correct. |
