| The History of Elliott County, in a profile of the Richard Whitt Sr. family, says that Piety Virginia Adkins, daughter of Elisha Adkins and Amanda Susan Whitt, married Elihu Wilson. It gives no dates, and does not mention the marriage to Remington Winston Tolliver. She was apparently married to Mr. Wilson by 1908, because in the marriage record of her son Elisha to Clemmie Hall in Sep 1908, she is referred to as "Pina Wilson." The marriage most likely took place in Elliott County (it is not recorded in Rowan County.) |
