Settled on Burks Fork (Carroll County) formerly Montgomery County in 1772. He was working his fields in 1774 when he observed an indian hiding behind a tree. He grabbed a rifle and killed the indian. Another indian fled.
Deeded property to son Andrew Cock June 1, 1787 D.B. #A-450. He disappears in early 1800's and believed to be in his seventies to eighties. Presumed he and wife Elizabeth spent last years on farm of Andrew Cock to whom they deeded property.
