| Kentucky Vital Statistics death index lists Alpha Hall of Rowan Co., d. 10-20-1960, age 76, in Fayette Co. Her obituary in the Morehead News of Oct 27, 1960, said "Funeral services for Mrs. Alpha (Mauk) Hall were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Clearfield Church of God with interment in Brown Cemetery. Mrs. Hall, past 70 years of age, was born in Elliott County, daughter of the late Samuel and Delilah (Harper) Mauk. In 1906 she married Worley Hall, widely known minister, who preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Hall suffered a heart attack in July and failed to recover. Following the attack she was confined much of the time to the hospital. Immediate survivors include a brother, Reason J. Mauk, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hall was an active member of the Church of God and the American Legion Auxiliary. She formerly taught school in Rowan and Elliott counties. Reverends James Hall and John Conley officiated at the funeral. Arrangements were handled by the McBrayer Funeral Home. The casket bearers were Hendrix Barker, Joe Mauk, Alton Payne, Sam Green and Phillip Neuerman, all nephews. Honorary bearers included: John D. Barker, Charlie Lewis, Roscoe Jones, John Thompson, Jim Miles, Alvin Martin, Charles Tackett, Virgil Richardson, Vernon Alfrey, J. H. Powers, Rev. J. C. Raikes, Royal Brown, Harve Kegley, Eldon Evans, Riley Cline, Herbert Bradley, Herbert Tackett, Watt Prichard, Ed Fannin, Frank Havens, Bethel Hall, Harry Green, John Green, C. P. Caudill, Humphrey Barker, Glenn W. Lane, Alpha Hutchinson, Richie Whitt, Jerry Conn, S. P. Wheeler and Claude Brown." | ||||||||||||
