Fraley, John, 25, b. 1875, farmer; Minnie, wife, 22, b. Dec 1877; married 7 years, mother of 3 children, 2 living; Cloe E., dau, 5, b. July 1894; Bessie, dau, 11/12, b. June 1899. All born Ky Ky Ky. (The next household is that of John's brother Alfred.) |
| Notes for Minnie Riddle |
| I may have erred in listing the Minnie Riddle who was the d/o John & Sophia Riddle as the wife of John Fraley, since the 1900 census lists Minnie age 22 b. Dec 1877 as the wife of John Fraley, and also Minnie Riddle, age 25, born Mar 1875 with John & Sophia. But there is no other Minnie Riddle in the 1880 census of Rowan, Morgan, or Bath counties, and John & Minnie were married at John Riddle's. Moreover, at the wedding of Bessie Fraley, daughter of John Fraley & Minnie Riddle, one of the witnesses was Ollie Riddle, the son of John & Sophie Riddle. And the 1880 census, which is much more reliable on birthdates than the 19003, lists John & Sophie's daughter Minnie as age 2. So the listing with John & Sophie in 1900 is most likely just a duplicate. |
