Pendleton Co. marriage records, Bk. 1, p.48, lists marriage of George Pettit & Permelia Porter on 21 Mar 1815.
Nothing further is known about George. The 1830 Loudoun Co., VA census shows a George Pettit with spouse, both age 30-40, in Sherburne Parish. Since this is the precinct where Amos once lived, it is possible that George and his wife went back to VA to live on his father's property, but this is mere speculation. It could instead be some other descendent of Amos's father. Further research into Loudoun Co. records is called for. |
