Pendleton Co. marriage records, Bk. 1, p.32, lists marriage of David Craig & Nancy Pettit on 14 Apr 1811.
Margaret Spiry's family group sheet (see Notes for Amos Pettit) has a note by the line for Nancy which is partly cut off on my photocopy. What is visible is: "2m)24 Aug 1\ Charles Wh" (the \ is a line break.) Steve Navaro lists her second marriage as "Charles S. Wheeler, 1828". I've combined the two halves of the date.
Virginia Loomis gives Nancy's birthdate as ca 1790, and lists her before George. Steve Navaro gives it as 1792, and lists George first. |
