Notes for Aaron Quesenberry Jr.
The list of children for Aaron Quisenberry Jr. is from an article by Anderson Chenault Quisenberry on pp. 423-430 of Colonial Families of the United States. He did not indicate which children were by which wife, so some of them may be in the wrong family group. (I have placed those children listed in A.C. Q's article, but not listed in the will of James Shelton as children of Sally Ellis.) The article is too brief to give sources, but since he was a professional journalist and historian, I am trusting that for the most part it is correct. From his longer books, it is clear that his major sources were probate and land records. I have added additional dates and source notes, mostly from marriage and christening records extracted in the IGI. It seems that A.C.Q. did not have access to some of the church records which later researchers discovered. The birth order is also likely to be incorrect.

[Aaron Jr. appears three times in the LDS Ancestral File as a son of Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley. As 8LVD-6V, his birthdate is given as about 1746. As NGD2-K3, his birthdate is given as about 1749. And as NCFS-03, his birthdate is given as about 1762. No spouse is linked to any of these individiduals.]
Census
The first census of the United States, which in Orange Co., Virginia was taken in 1782, lists in the district enumerated by William Moore, a household headed by Aaron Quisenberry Jr., containing 8 whites and 5 blacks.
Notes for Sally Ellis
The two children named Benjamin and Joyce suggests that there may be some relationship between Sally Ellis and the Powell and/or Riddle families of Orange Co. (see, e.g., the family group sheet for Benjamin Powell and Joyce Riddle.)
