1900 Soundex of Ky lists in Fleming Co., Lillie M. Petitt, age 18, b. 3-82, granddaughter, with the family of Harrison Gardener. Indexed as Vol. 52, ED 38, p. 6. (This may be an error; other Fleming Co. records are indexed as Vol. 22.) I have not consulted the census itself. (Lillie's parents William and Catherine are not listed in the 1900 Soundex of Kentucky. This doesn't necessarily mean they died, though. They could have moved to, say, Ohio, and allowed Lillie to remain with her grandparents.) |
