| His obituary as printed in the Rowan Co News of Nov. 8, 1945 read "Funeral services for Ambrose Blair, 69, who died Monday [Nov. 5, 1945] were conducted from the home Wednesday by Rev. Ray White and Rev. B. H. Kazee. Burial was in the Caudill Cemetery. Mr. Blair, who was widely known throughout the county, was born May 13, 1876. He was married to Jennie Lewis on January 17, 1900, and to this union there was born the following children, all of whom survive: David Blair, owner of the ABC Grocery, Flemingsburg Road, Morehead; Mrs. Mary Easterling, Shelby, Ohio; Lillian Turner, Morehead; Mae Blair, Morehead; and Elbert Blair, now in the armed forces. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters: Dr. A. L. Blair, Ashland; Grant Blair, Blaze, Ky; Isaac Blair, Morehead; Mrs. S. M. Caudill, Morehead; and Mrs. C. R. Lacey, Adelle, Ky. Casket bearers at the funeral were: Lonnie Porter, Coy Hibbard, Jack Fraley, Corb Dickerson, George Quisenberry and Earl McBrayer." |

| I wish I knew how Sarah came to die one week after her wedding day. She is buried beside her parents, with a stone that says Sarah Scaggs Blair, 1880-1898. There are no other Blairs buried in the cemetery. |
