The microfiche index to Kentucky Vital Statistics lists birth of Odessa Petitt on 11-1-14 in Breathitt Co., mother's maiden name Mollie Ivens. She was really born in Rowan Co.; for some reason almost all births in Rowan Co. from 1911-1917 and 1940-1969 are indexed as Breathitt Co. even when the birth certificate says Rowan.
Grandma has a Christmas card, no address or date, with a note including the news "Alma passed away the 13 of Dec", and signed "Oscar and Odessa". Alma would be Odessa's sister, who died 13 Dec 1990. So we know Oscar and Odessa were both still living in 1990.
She was listed in her sister Zonie's April 1994 obituary as living in Bradenton, Florida. |
