His obituary in the Rowan County News of Thu, Dec 20, 1934 says: J. N. Caudill died on Sat. at a hospital in Lexington. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Callie Caudill, and by three children from a former marriage, Roy Caudill, Winchester; Mrs Burnie Caudill, Ashland; and Roscoe Caudill, Anderson, Ind. Attending the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. Roy Caudill and children Leroy & Lewis; Mr. & Mrs. Burnie Cottle & son Garland; Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe Caudill and son Samuel.
