| The name William does not appear in the 1880 census (when he should have been either almost 2 or just turned 2, depending on the census date). Probably William is the the child listed as a girl Lillian age 1 in 1880, and the census taker in 1880 misheard the name of the baby, and simply inferred the gender. Gary Lewis, from whom I got a complete family group for the Abel Caudill family, does not list a child Lillian. |
