| Notes for Robert Link |
| I cannot find this Robert Link in the Kentucky death records, although his uncle of the same name is listed. |
| Census |
1900 Soundex index lists in Morgan Co., Pleasant Run, V. 58, E.D. 76, p. 4, line 72:
Robert Link, 39, July 1860; wife Ida M., 27, Aug 1872; dau Sarah E., 6, Aug 1893; son Everett F., 3, Mar 1897. All born in Kentucky.
Also in the same E.D., p. 6, line 34, is Myrtie Link, 8, Mar 1892, a servant with the family headed by Elizzie A. Lewis. From her daughter Ethel Brewer, Myrtie is a daughter of Robert.
1910 Soundex index lists in Morgan Co., indexed as 062 0152 0109:
Robert Link, 40; wife Ida, 41; son Evert, 13. All born in Kentucky.
Note that the 1910 reading would imply a birthdate for Robert of 1870, which is not consistent with the 1870 or 1900 censuses. Probably there is a transcription error in the 1910 Soundex index, and it should say 50. I should check the originals. There is also a 4 year difference in the implied birthdates for Ida; this is more likely to be a misreported age in one of the years rather than a transcription error. |
| Notes for Ida Mae Utterback |
The 1900 census gives Ida Mae's birthdate as Aug 1972. The 1910 census gives her age as 41, implying a birthdate in 1868 or 1869. Her death certificate gives her age at death as 77, which would imply a birthdate in 1866 or 1867, depending on whether she was born before or after Aug 9. Her gravestone says Jan 25, 1871. I believe, however, that she is the Ada age 4 months in the 1870 census, born Jan 1870, twin of Effie Lee.
Index to Kentucky death records lists Ida M. Link, d. 9 Aug 1944, age 77, in Rowan Co., certificate Vol. 32, #15834. |
