| Index to Kentucky Death Records lists Joe Gregory, d. 16 Apr 1938, age 68, in Rowan Co., residence Clearfield, certificate Vol. 21, #10409. This would imply a birthdate in 1870 or 1869, which is two years before that implied by his marriage record (33 on 26 Mar 1905). |

| I cannot find a death record for Amanda, unless she is the Amanda Perkins who died 6 Jan 1964 in Madison Co., residence same, at age 86. The implied birth date would fit, but I know of no reason for Amanda to be living in Madison County in 1964. Jesse died in Rowan Co. in 1968. |

| Rowan Co. Marriage Bk 5, records marriage of Joseph Gregory, age 33, and Amanda Riddle, age 21 on 26 Mar 1905. It is listed as the second marriage for Joseph and the first for Amanda. She is probably the daughter of John Wm Riddle and Sophia Thomas, even though the 1880 census suggests that John and Sophia's Amanda would be 25 in 1905. Amanda Riddle d/o Commodore Riddle was a bit closer to the right age (she was born in 1881), but she was married to Alex Baldridge in 1901 and died still named "Amanda Baldridge" in 1957. I know of no other Amanda Riddle's in the area. |
