Possibly the Josiah Jones listed in the 1880 census of Morgan Co., Ky, River precinct, family #25:
Josiah Jones, 46; Matilda J., 35; John, 18; Isaac, 14; Martha, 11; Allen, 9; Ann, 6; Marion, 3; Telia (or Felia) E., 6/12. I can't find any other Josiah Jones in Morgan, Bath, or Rowan Co. But the Josiah cited above is next door to a Marion Jones, age 40, who is probably his brother, and as far as I know James W. Jones Sr. had no son Marion. (James W. Jones Jr. and his wife Emily had a son Marion b. 1862, but he would have been only 18 in 1880.) |
