| Rowan Co. marriage book 4, p. 65, records marriage on 29 June 1901 of Powel Hall, 20, to Ceona McClain, 18. Witnesses Frank Purvis and Ida Bowman. The license application says that the marriage is to be at the residence of the bride's father; the license return says that it was at "Bill Bowman's res, Morehead." But it is indicated as her first marriage, so Bill Bowman wouldn't be her father. Perhaps the plans just changed. |
