Morgan County Vital Statistics on LDS microfilm #0216835 list the birth of William H. Alfrey on 29 Aug 1855, birthplace North Fork Licking. His father is given as Alfred H. Alfrey. The column for maiden name of mother appears to say "Mary Howard"26, but that is due to a binding error. The right hand page that should be bound with page 6 says Bradshaw on that line.
Be careful not to confuse him with the William H. Alfrey born in 1857, son of Samuel Alfrey and Mary Ann Manley. There were two William H. Alfreys in Rowan Co. only 2 years apart in age. (There would have been three, if the William H. Alfrey born in 1856, son of Thompson Alfrey, had not died at age 3.) |
