| Notes for Joseph L. Pettit | ||||||||
| Joseph fought in the Civil War, was captured and held as a prisoner of war. He moved to Virginia around 1860, married there and had several children. He then moved back to Pennsylvania around 1870, where he remained until about 1878, when he returned to Calhoun Co., West Virginia. (Based on place of births of his children.) | ||||||||
