His obituary in the Morehead News of Dec 13, 1996, says:
"Grover B. Jennings, 88, of Morehead, died Monday, Dec. 9, at the Life Care Center, after a long illness.
He was born June 7, 1908 in Rowan County to the late Harrison Jennings and Maudie Day Jennings. He was a retired W.P.A. worker, a farmer, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by one son, Hobert Jennings; one brother, Jessie Jennings; two sisters, Bertha Vance and Pearl Jennings, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Surviving are two sons, Clarence Jennings of Taylor, Mich. and Richard Jennings of Morehead; four daughters, Lenia Jennings and Mary Jewell Estep, both of Morehead; Stella Shaffer of New London, Ohio and Susan Lay of Pine Knot; two brothers, Clinton Jennings of Pinson, Tenn. and Dorsey Jennings of Morehead; two sisters, Mary Jane Mauk of Olive Hill and Goldie Sexton of Taylor, Mich. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren." |
