The article on the Alfrey family in the 1956 Centennial Edition of the Rowan Co. News6 has this to say on the Adam Alfrey family:

"Fielding's brother and old Sam's son, Adam, married Hester Ramey.

They became the parents of George Washington Alfrey who married a Ramey; John who married Ellen Shopire; Isaac who married a Jones; Barbara who married Russell Armstrong; Louisa who married (Old) A. J. McKenzie (there have been three A. J. McKenzies and this was the first); Louis who didn't marry; Mary who married John Oney; and Minerva who married Ben Oney."

1850 census of Fleming Co., Ky, division 2, lists as family #28:
Adam Alfrey, 41, farmer; Ester, 46; George W., 21; John, 19; Thompson, 18; Isaac, 16; Barbary, 14; Louisa, 12; Lewis, 11; Mary Ann, 8; Minerva, 6. All born in Ky.
(The next household is that of Archibald Ramey, 90, Va; Mary Ann Ramey, 70, Va; Mary Ann Ramey, 24, Ky; Thomas Ramey, 13, Ky.)

1860 census of Rowan Co., Ky, lists as family #401 (between Alexander Byram and A. J. McKenzie):
Adam Alfrey, 52; Hester, 48; John, 29; Isaac, 26; Lewis, 20; Mary, 18; Manerva, 16. All born in Kentucky. (Since Adam's parents married in March 1811, his age is probably off by 3 or 4 years - he should be about 48.)

1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearce precinct, lists as family #73 (between Adam's son Thompson Alfrey and his brother Fielding Alfrey):
Alfrey, Adam, 61, farmer; Hester, 63 (!); Isaac, 35; Lewis, 28; Mary, 26; Minerva, 23; Marion, 10. All born in Kentucky.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearce precinct, records as family #248:
Alfrey, Adam, 71, farmer; Hettie, 75, wife; Isaac, 40, son; Lewis, 35, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.
