Morgan Co. Ky marriage register book #1 records marriage license issued to Thomas Ramey and Polly Jones on 20 Sep 1831, no return.
I am entering Polly's estimated death date under the assumption that it is the same Thomas Ramey who married Malinda Murphy in 1837. There is only one Thomas Ramey in the 1850 census of Morgan County. According to a published index, however, there were two Thomas Ramey's in the 1840 census (one on page 6 and one on page 10). So it is possible that the Thomas Ramey who married Polly Jones is not the same as the one who married Malinda Murphy, and that this Thomas and Polly left Morgan County before 1850. I need to examine that census and get the age brackets in the two households. |
