| His obituary in the Morehead News of June 29, 1999 ran "Edgar Victor Black, 62, of Moore's Flat, Morehead, died Saturday, June 26 [1999] at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington. He was born May 1, 1937 at Rowan County to Thelma Wells Black of Morehead and the late E. Edgar Black. A former carpenter, he was the former owner of Carpet Wholesale of Farmers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlene Black on Sept. 20, 1987, and one brother, Franklin Pierce Black on Sept. 20, 1994. Surviving are one son, Rick Black of Hillsboro; one daughter, Barbara Lynn Hill of Flemingsburg; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were set for Tuesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. James E. Quisenberryy officiating and burial at McClain Cemetery on Jones Ridge. Visitation is anyytime at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Kent Conn, Dexter Spirlock, Bob Bowman, Ryan Hill, Terrence Hill, Herb Ramey, Joe Eldridge and Jerry Flannery." |
