The maiden name of "Bohannon" is from their daughter Josephine's death certificate.
Virginia and Greenberry may really be children of Joseph and an unknown wife whom he was married to between Rachel Alfrey and Polly Bohannon, or they might be grandchildren, since the 1860 census lists him with no wife and two young children. I could not find a marriage record for Joseph Myers and Mary or Polly Bohannon; there were marriage records for Joseph Myers & Elizabeth Wyatt on 22 Nov 1854, and for Joseph Myers & Mary Thomas on 23 Oct 1856, but I don't know if either of them is the right Joseph. It could be that Mary Bohannon was previously married to a Mr. Thomas. |
