| The only Walter Fouch listed in the Kentucky death index is Walter S. Fouch, died 6 Nov 1912, age 38, in Rowan Co., certificate vol. 73, #28971. The only problem is that this Walter would be about 57 in 1912. I wonder if a "58" was misread as "38", or if there were two Walter S. Fouches in Rowan County? |

Fouch, Milliard, 23, farmer; Percilla, 21, wife; Roscoe, 3/12, son; Walter S., 25, farmer; Martha, 23, wife; John, 3, son; Georgie, 1, son. All birthplaces Ky Ky Ky.
(Since no relationship is listed for Walter, and there is not even a bump in the "family" number for Walter, yet the relationships given for Martha, John and Georgie are to Walter, not to Millard, it is likely that the enumerator simply missed a change-of-family when entering the numbers, and that these are two separate households.)

Rowan Co. birth records, on LDS microfilm #216839, list Mary Ann Cornett, b. 9 May 1858, daughter of Westley Cornett & Seaten S. Morris, place of birth Triplett.
The 1860 census, though, lists Martha age 2, and Mary age 5, and the 1870 census lists Martha age 12 and Mary age 15. Apparently the birth record should be Martha Ann. |

| Information that Martha Ann Cornett married Walter S. Fouch is from correspondence with Evelyn Smith <evelynk@bright.net>, a descendant of their daughter Lucy who married Norman Goodan. Since courthouse books from the 1870's in both Elliott Co. and Rowan Co. were destroyed by fire, we are not likely to find an official marriage record. |
