Her obituary in the Morehead News of Jan 3, 1997 reads:
"Eva DeHart Smedley, 95, of Pretty Valley, Fyrl Street, Clearfield, died Monday, Dec. 30, at the Autumn Years Nursing Home, Sabina, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 5, 1901 in Rowan County to the late William Henry and Sarah Clark DeHart. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Smedley on Aug. 21, 1988, one son, Junior Smedley and one daughter, Magelean Mabrey.
Surviving are four sons, William Smedley of Sabina, Ohio, Oscar Smedley of New Vienna, Ohio, James Smedley of Morehead and Roger Smedley of Lagro, Ind.; two daughters, Mae Lambert of Bluffton, Ind., and Juanita Bone of Sabina, Ohio; and one sister, Esta Crose of Clearfield. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Elder Owen Cox officiating with burial at the Crix Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dannie Lambert, Darrell Lambert, Dennis Lambert, Bobby Smedley, Ronald Smedley, Mitchell Smedley, Franklin Mabry and Everett Mabry." |
