| Notes for UNKNOWN McClain |
This is a placeholder to collect the McClains in my database whose parents I don't know. Most of those born in the 1820's probably belong to the Charles McClain family. But there were two John McClain families in the 1850 census of Morgan Co., one 25 and the other 20, so at least one of them must belong to a different father. (Beverly McClain didn't marry until 1831, and had a son John born 1844, so neither of the John McClains who were young men in 1850 would be his.)
