1860 census of Rowan Co., Ky, lists as family #399:
H. McDaniel, 35; Nancy, 25; William T., 9; Cynthia, 7; James B., 5; Uriah, 2; Elizabeth J., 1/12. All born in Kentucky.

| Her status as a daughter of Uriah Cottle and Cynthia "Sinthy" Jones is not proven. I've assumed it on the basis that Uriah & Sinthy lived near the Hezekiah McDaniel Sr. family, they have a gap that fits in the births of their proven children (between John b. 1829 and Melissa b. 1834), and most significantly, Hezekiah Jr. & Nancy Cottle named their first daughter Cynthia, and one of their sons Uriah, which is not a very common name. |
