| Deb Howard16 lists Jesse tentatively as a son of Aaron Dehart and Malinda Ellender Dennis, with the notation "parentage not proven", mainly on the basis of both Gabriel P. Dehart and Jesse moving to Morgan Co. Kentucky in the 1830's, and because Jesse named a son Gabriel. I am not making this link mainly because the given or middle name "Hubbard" runs in this family, and there is no indication that Aaron Dehart or Malinda Ellender Dennis had Hubbard ancestry. (Deb Howard also does not list Hubbard as Jesse's middle name, and I do not recall where I got it from. It is possible that it is really not his middle name. But it is definitely his grandson Stephen's, who went by Hubbard.) |
