| Her obituary in the Morehead News of 30 Sep 1997 says: "Ivory Sloan Crum Crose, 73, of Mocabee Creek, Olive Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at the St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead. She was born Dec. 12, 1923 in Rowan County to the late Melvin and Ellen Trent Sloan. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Crum, in 1952; her second husband, Melvin Crose in 1973; two sisters, Audry Sloan Pennington and Dellie Sloan; two brothers, Glennis Ray Sloan and Melvin Sloan Jr. Surviving are four sons, Charles Crum of Olive Hill, Clester Crum and Lester Crum, both of Muncie, Ind. and Danny Crose of Montezuma, Ind.; one stepson, Ardith Crose of Illinois; three daughters, Glessie Fultz of Olive Hill, Fay Moore of Morehead and Mary Russell of Marshall, Ind.; six brothers, Fonza Sloan, Richard Sloan, Dennis Sloan and Kenneth Sloan, all of Olive Hill, Lonnie Sloan of Elliottville and Harold Sloan of Sandy Hook; six sisters, Eula Mae Conley of Gary, Ind., Louise Adkins, Maxine Dehart, Guyan Mabry and Stella Fraley, all of Elliottville. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jack Evans and the Rev. Ray Glover officiating with burial at the Trent Cemetery on Trent Ridge. Pallbearers: Brian Blevins, Darrel Hamilton, George Gyurik, Tracy Hamilton, Kenny Ryan, William Forrest, Lee Russell and Raymond Moore."
