| Notes for Andrew B. Riddle | ||||||||||||||
| Bath Co. Deed Book Q, Page 84, Lewis Riddle sold land in White Oak to Andrew Riddle, 25 Oct 1849. The assignment of Andrew Riddle to the family of Lewis and Elizabeth Riddle is only probable, based on the deed above, on his age fitting in to the males listed in the household of Lewis Riddle in the 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses, and that all the other male Riddles of his generation living in Bath County in 1850 are known to be Lewis' sons. The date of birth of 14 July 1819 is from Andrew's gravestone. If it is correct, then his age on the 1850 census is wrong. | ||||||||||||||

| 1850 census of Bath Co., KY lists this family as: Riddle, Andrew, 29; Mary, 30; Dorothy A., 5; Levi N., 3; Martha, 1. Mary born in Va, all others in Ky. 1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville, lists family #1180: Andrew Riddle, 42; Mary, 43; Dolly, 14; Lewis, 11; Martha, 9; Francis (female) 7; James, 5; Malinda, 3. The ages in this and the 1850 census should obviously be taken as approximations. 1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville, lists family #41: Andrew Riddle, 51; Mary, 52; Dolly Ann, 25; Franky (female) 18; James, 16; Malinda, 13. 1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, Wyoming prec., lists as family #130: Andrew B. Riddle, 60; Mary J., 62; Dolly A., 36. (Next family is that of Levi N. Riddle) | ||||||||||||||
