James Caudill and Sarah Elizabeth Caudill are given as the parents of Electious T. Caudill in three separate articles in the History of Elliott Co. book. The first article, by Vicki M. Watkins, gives James Caudill Jr. & Mary Adams as the parents of Sarah Elizabeth Caudill, and does not mention the parents of James Caudill who married Sarah Elizabeth. The second article, by Carol J. (Caudill) Rodman, 14009 N. 38th Dr., Phoenix, AZ, gives James Caudill Jr. & Mary Adams as the parents of James Caudill (Electious' father), and does not mention the parents of Sarah Elizabeth Caudill. The third article, by Viola Mullen, 475 Mullen Banks Rd., Morehead, Ky, does not mention the parents of either one. So most likely James Jr. and Mary Adams are the parents of either James or Sarah, but there is no evidence that I know of as to which one it is. The other is probably a child of either Matthew Caudill & Sarah Webb, or Stephen Caudill & Sarah Adams.
Deb Howard's FamilyTreeMaker site links Sarah Elizabeth as a child of James Jr. & Mary, so I am following that for now. Her website also lists 12 children for James and Sarah; I am only entering the ones who settled in Elliott County or Rowan County. |
