Census Notes for William Sexton
1820 census of Bath Co., Ky, p. 208, line 4, lists:
William Sexton, 1 m < 10, 1 m 10-15, 1 m 16-18, 1 m 16-25, 1 m 26-44; 4 f < 10; 2 f 10-15; 1 f 16-25; 1 f 26-44. |
Notes for Mary "Polly" Elizabeth Cock
Polly is almost sure to be descended from John Cocke and Elizabeth Goad in some way, but I don't know enough about the early Cock families to know how. (William's sister Elizabeth Sexton married James Cock, a son of Andrew Cock and Penelope Ward. Andrew's family is known from his will, and his daughter Mary married John Dickerson, but Andrew had at least four brothers that I don't have family groups for.)
Notes for William & Mary "Polly" Elizabeth (Family)
Grayson Co. marriage book 1 records the marriage of William Sexton and Polly Cock, as well as the marriage of William Sexton and Elizabeth Cock, both on the same date, 17 Sep 1800. This is almost certain to be the same marriage recorded twice, so I have entered her name as Mary "Polly" Elizabeth Cock. (The marriage of James Cock and Elizabeth Sexton is also recorded on the same date.)
