Carroll Co. VA marriage records list marriage of J. W. Quisenberry, age 20, single, born Carroll Co., son of Theophilus & Rachel, and Elizabeth Dalton, age 19, single, b. Carroll Co., daughter of Elias & Mary, on 28 Dec 1871.
Since their son Ballard died at age 3 months in Jan 1872, only one month after this marriage date, it seems possible that they were actually married in Dec 1870, and the marriage was recorded with the wrong year. Either that or Ballard actually died in Jan 1873. (It was very common for events in Dec to get recorded with the next year, or events in Jan to get recorded with the preceding year.) |
