| 1850 census of Grayson Co., Virginia, lists as family #568: Minitree Roberts, 27; Euphamy, 30; Powell, 10; Elizabeth, 9; Wiley, 8; Susannah, 7; Sally, 6. All born in Virginia. 1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, lists as family #718: Menetry Roberts, 35, Va; Feannie, 38, Va; Elizabeth, 15, Va; Willey, 14, Va; Susanna, 12, Va; Sarah E., 11, Va; William, 9, Va; Rose, 8, Va; Isaac, 6, Va; Lucinda, 5, Va; James, 4, Va; Mitchell, 2, Va; Joyce I., 6 mo., Ky. Most of the older children seem to have only aged six years in the decade, Susannah and Sally only five years! I think most likely they were listed as older than their actual ages in 1850, because William was not born yet at the time of the 1850 census, so 9 going on 10 is probably the correct age for him. Also, the ages for Isaac (Isaiah), Lucinda and James are consistent with Grayson Co. birth records, another indication that this census is probably more accurate than the 1850 one. Minetry and Euphamy may have both died before 1870, even though they were fairly young. I cannot find them in the 1870 census, and in that year Clark, Lucinda, and Troy were all living with other families. (I haven't found Isaiah, James or Joyce in 1870.) | ||||||

| Bath County Marriage Book 3 lists the marriage of Minetry Roberts and Rebecca Stephens on 22 Sep 1865. (From an index only, I have not checked the details.) It is possible that it was a second marriage for Rebecca as well as Minetry, so Stephens may not be her maiden name. There is no Rebecca Stephens or Stevens in the 1860 census of Bath Co. | ||||||
