These linked family group sheets are generated by Reunion, from my database of over 16,690 direct and collateral paternal relatives. (A few links will cross over into the database for my mother's side. The two sets of pages are tied together, but indexed separately, since the two sides of my ancestry were from different areas and there are only two places where the databases touch other than in the marriage of my parents.)

They include all the known ancestors of my father's parents, Truby and Florence (Hall) Petitt, descendants of those ancestors, and allied families. Since I maintain the USGenWeb site for Rowan County, Kentucky, I have been very liberal in my interpretation of "allied families" - some of the families included here have only very remote connections to me, such as being the grandparents of spouses of my third cousins twice removed. Individuals related to me by blood have the relationship indicated after their names where they appear in charts, such as "Mahala Susan Hall, G Aunt". If neither of the heads of a family has a relationship indicated, you will usually find that at least one of their daughters-in-law or sons-in-law has a relationship label.

Most of the families are in eastern Kentucky, particularly the counties of Rowan, Bath and Morgan, or in southwestern Virginia, especially the counties of Floyd, Carroll, and Montgomery.

These pages represent the current state of my personal research. In a database this size, with contributions collected from many correspondents, errors are inevitable. Whenever possible I have supplied source documentation such as census records, marriage records, obituaries, etc., but I have also incorporated second-hand information which was sent to me or posted online by others without sources. I'm not perfect, and will also sometimes make incorrect inferences from the data available. If evidence is supplied that I have someone linked to the wrong parents, I will correct the relevant web pages by hand as soon as possible, usually the same day I am informed. (My email address is at work, though, so I generally do not read my email on weekends.) Other corrections and additions, such as dates, locations and name spellings, may be batched up until the next time I synchronize the web site with my database.
