I have not found this John Petitt in the 1870 or 1880 censuses, unless he is the John Pettit age 2 in the 1870 census with Benjamin Pettit and Louisa Donahue, but I have assumed that John is more likely to be John Tom Pettit, son of Ben’s sister Elizabeth.
He does not appear on the 1920 census with his wife and children, but he must have died after 1922, most likely in Indiana, because he was the informant on the death certificate of his son Ollie (also Flora is listed as married in 1920, not widowed.)
