The birth index at Kentucky Vital Statistics office in Frankfort lists Inez M Petitt, b. 3-25-1912 in Breathitt Co., mother's maiden name Nettie James. I am assuming that she was really born in Rowan Co., because all Rowan Co. births in the period 1911-1917 are indexed as Breathitt Co.
Clippings reprinted in Rowan County Local News and Jottings by Leroy Hinton, from an unspecified local newspaper: "Aug 6, 1927 - Haldeman: Miss Inez Pettit is confined to her room with the mumps.", and "Sep 17, 1927 - Haldeman: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pettit were in Olive Hill to see their daughter, Inez, who is attending school at Aiken Hall." The book also lists Inez Pettit as the teacher of Open Fork School in 1932.
The Kentucky Death Index lists Inez M. Sturgill, died 26 Aug 1986 in Rowan Co., age 74.
