His obituary as abstracted on FindAGrave.com reported that Burl “established the Pure Oil Station in Morehead in 1954 and operated it until his retirement in 1967. Member of the Church of God. Survived by his wife Roxie Hall Crosthwaite; three daughters, Wilma, Loretta and Jeraldine; one brother, Clemens Crosthwaite; one sister, Grace Crosthwaite; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Bath County Memorial Gardens.”
